September- we visited supporters in Missouri. While we were there, Muriel Boyd, one of Gertrude's former recruits called to say that she wanted to extend her two-year commitment to Wycliffe in Asia. This was great news to share with her home church.
October- Kevin successfully completed linguistic training on October 17th. Gertrude delivered a workshop on developing a church missions program at the Church Development Conference in Dallas. Gertrude and another recruit represented Wycliffe at a church mission conference in Houston. The following week we had a great time reconnecting with supporting churches in New York; We received approval for Papua New Guinea work permits and have now started application for visas.
November- send application for PNG Visa; attend a couples retreat in Texas; continue visiting supporting churches; Celebrate Thanksgiving with Gertrude's family in Texas.
December-Purchase airline tickets for PNG; visit supporting church in Baton Rouge. Pack up in Dallas and visit Kevin's parents in Virginia. Celebrate our Lord's birth.
January-continue visiting supporters in Mississippi, Alabama and California; travel to Papua New Guinea via Australia, and begin the Pacific Orientation Course.
