Thanks for your prayers
It is because of the prayers and financial support that we receive that enables us to do the work that the Lord has called us to. Thanks for the part that you play. Here is a list of praise and prayer as of June 21.
Praise Report
- Good health and strength as we facilitate Bible translation and literacy among the Notsi.
- We have a new member of the Notsi literacy committee who is helping to get literacy into the church program of activities. Starting September 28th, three people will lead two one-hour transition/transfer literacy classes each Wednesday. We praise God for Dora, Josephine, Francisca and Lung. In the meantime, we have been meeting weekly to help Dora and Franscisca gain an understanding of the transfer primer. It's been good review for Josephine and Lung.
- We have almost completed replacing bamboo walling in the house with planks which should eliminate a major source of allergy for Gertrude.
- The extended time in the village has helped us to develop a greater bond with the Notsi at Lossu Village.
- A couple of churches have inquired about our financial needs in view of helping with furlough travel and other expenses.
- We are celebrating 10 years of marriage and rejoice in the years that the Lord has given us to serve Him together.
Prayer Request
- Our continued good health as the carpentry work in the house has caused quite a bit of dust--affecting Gertrude's breathing--and requiring much energy, wisdom and skill from Kevin.
- For our strength and stamina as well as help from Notsi community in finishing repairs on outer walls of the house over the next couple of weeks before Kevin goes back to NITI October 3rd.
- For Gertrude as she remains in the village during October to continue the transition classes.
- For safety of NITI participants as the travel by road and sea to attend.
- Notsi will be consultant checking Philippians and 1 Timothy at NITI--that checking will go well and any problems could be promptly corrected.
- For the Notsi literacy committee to be faithful and for good attendance at the literacy classes.
- For the Lord to meet our needs for our up coming furlough our airline tickets costed us nearly $6,000
