Closer to Completion
We thank God for the progress that is being made with Notsi Bible translation. In May Kevin and the Notsi translators did a consultant check. That is, we reviewed and edited 1 Corinthians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Titus, Philemon and James with an outside consultant. Since then, we have prepared 2 Corinthians and Ephesians for consultant check. By the end of the year we would like to have Colossians, Jude and Revelation ready for consultant check as well. That would leave Romans, Hebrews, and 1 & 2 Peter to finish next year. Praise the LORD!
We have four more checkpoints after all the consultant checking is completed. (1) we will need to do a read through of the whole New Testament–checking the key Biblical terms, grammar, spelling and the format of the text; (2) Send the Notsi New Testament manuscript to be typeset. The typesetting will take about three months; (3) Do a read through of the typeset manuscript for a final check; and finally (4) Send the Notsi New Testament manuscript to Korea for publishing.
We are making good progress but as you can imagine we still have much work to do to complete the Notsi New Testament. The Notsi are getting excited as we are near completion and are already beginning to make plans for the dedication. One Sunday after church a group of men asked me about the date of the dedication ceremony. I explained that our goal would be around September 2022. They began to share about where they would like to have it, and how they would like to plan things. They have even setup a committee to begin to organize communities for the dedication. We pray that all the church groups, including the Catholic and other protestant churches will be a part of this great celebration.
